The William H. The scope and ambition of the new Galvin Middle School reflects a comprehensive, community-driven vision for 21st-century public education. The new building will feature flexible learning spaces designed to facilitate collaborative, project-based learning, a dedicated wing for grades 5 and 6 and a separate wing for grades 7 and 8, an 800-seat auditorium serving the performing arts community across the entire town, a geothermal energy system providing sustainable heating and cooling for the building and public spaces, a turf field with outdoor lighting, and expanded community spaces that will serve Canton residents for decades to come well beyond the school day. Geothermal well drilling commenced in December 2024, marking the highly visible opening of active construction on the project site, with 90% construction documents due to the MSBA in March 2026, signage packages in development, and all necessary construction permits being secured in coordination with the Town of Canton as the project advances steadily toward its 2028 opening date.
