The Cambridge-Yerevan Sister City Association, Inc., known as CYSCA, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, dedicated to fostering friendship, mutual trust, and dynamic cultural exchange between the peoples of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Yerevan, Armenia, as well as their neighboring regions. As one of the most active and long-standing sister city organizations in New England, CYSCA has spent nearly four decades building meaningful people-to-people connections across two vibrant and culturally rich cities, promoting public awareness of shared concerns, celebrating diversity, and strengthening the bonds between the Armenian and Cambridge communities through a rich and growing calendar of cultural, educational, civic, and humanitarian programs that span both sides of the Atlantic.

CYSCA’s program portfolio reflects the full depth of its commitment to international community building and cross-cultural exchange. Its Armenia School Aid program delivers educational support and resources directly to schools in Armenia, while its Cambridge Science Festival participation brings the sister city relationship into one of Cambridge’s most celebrated annual civic events. The Open World program fosters professional and civic exchange at the leadership level, and ongoing programs including community connections, dental outreach, and cultural events bridge the everyday lives of people in both cities in tangible, lasting ways. CYSCA also maintains active ties with the Yerevan-Cambridge Sister City Association in Armenia, ensuring that the partnership is genuinely bilateral and deeply rooted in both communities. With an annual membership meeting, a growing membership base, regular news and publications through its newsletter and archives, and a dedicated board of directors, CYSCA is a thriving, volunteer-powered nonprofit that has consistently punched well above its weight in terms of real-world international impact for nearly 40 years.
